In the window, click on Set Microphone Level. In the new window that pops up, use the adjustable bar to set the microphone volume. You may also test whether the microphone is working by speaking into it. Start with the microphone volume turned up all the way, speak into it in a moderate, even tone, (like you're lecturing) and Power Point will automatically adjust the mic volume to an appropriate level. Once you are done, click Ok and you will go back to the Record Narration window.
