Impatica for PowerPoint is a licensed program that simply
converts the PowerPoint file into a compressed format that is optimized
(compressed for greatest quality but least amount of download time required)
for streaming over the Internet (The registration information for Impatica
is located in the Online
Operational Manual). Impatica file is typically 95% smaller than the
PowerPoint HTML files.
Before you Impaticize your presentation, you want to make sure it is saved with the correct settings.
For PowerPoint 2003: First go to File > Page setup, in the top left menu bar. The dimensions of your presentation should be set to 7 in. wide by 5.25 in. tall in order to be viewed on computers running different resolutions. Also make sure all images, sounds and other media in your presentation are embedded in it and not linked to. The way to do this is to go to Tools > Options and under the 'General' tab set 'Link sounds with file sizes greater than' to the max of 50000kb. Now save the presentation and you're ready to Impaticize.
For PowerPoint 2007: First click on the Design tab, then Page Setup, and make sure the dimensions of your presentation are set to 7 in. wide by 5.25 in tall. Also, make sure all images, sounds, and other media in your presentation are embedded in it and not linked to. To do this, click on the Office Button > Powerpoint Options > Advanced > Link sounds with file sizes greater than _____. Set that to the maximum of 50,000 kb. NOTE: If you are using Impatica 3.x to Impaticize, you must save the PowerPoint file as a backward compatible file for PowerPoint 97-2003, instead of a .PPTX file. Now you are ready to Impaticize.
