Getting to the
Homewood Campus

Getting to the Homewood Campus
The Johns Hopkins Homewood campus is located in north Baltimore. It is easily accessible from several Interstates, and is also a short taxi ride from Penn Station and BWI airport. To prepare for your visit, you can take our virtual tour, download a PDF of our walking tour map, look at places to park on campus, or see a list of area hotels.

For information about accommodations for handicapped or less mobile visitors, please call the Admissions Office before your visit at (410) 516-8171.

The directions below bring you to the Office of Undergraduate Admissions at Mason Hall. Visitor parking is available in the South Garage, underneath the building. See visitor parking rates.

Alternate Directions for October 10—Baltimore Marathon
On October 10, 2009, our city is proud to host the Baltimore Marathon and Half-Marathon. This event will involve street closures throughout the city, as well as increased traffic. To help you arrive stress-free to our October 10 Saturday Session, we strongly suggest allowing additional travel time and using the following alternate directions to campus:

Take I-95 to the Baltimore Beltway (I-695 Towson); follow I-695 to I-83 South. Continue on I-83 South to exit 9A (Cold Spring Lane East). At the end of the exit ramp, turn left onto Cold Spring Lane. Stay on Cold Spring Lane for approximately one mile. At the fourth traffic light, turn right onto Roland Ave. Go to the next traffic light, where the road splits. Choose the left-hand, downhill option (Roland Ave. will become University Parkway). Continue on University Parkway through three traffic lights, or about one mile. At the fourth light, turn right on San Martin Drive. Follow San Martin Drive for approximately half a mile and turn left on Bowman Drive. At the stop sign, turn right to stay on Bowman Drive. You will see the Johns Hopkins Club on your right. Immediately after the Johns Hopkins Club, turn left to remain on Bowman Drive. Bowman Drive will wind around campus for almost half a mile. Once you reach a stop sign, turn left to enter the South Garage. You should also see "Open House" signs and yellow "detour" signs that will help you find your way to the garage.

For visitors traveling to the Homewood campus from the south, we realize this represents a bit of a detour. We apologize for any inconvenience; however, you are encouraged to follow the directions above to ensure that you don’t get caught in any road closures.
