The Hodson
Trust
More than 86 years ago, the family of
Beneficial Corporation founder, Colonel Clarence Hodson,
provided the assets for The Hodson Trust to support
higher education in Maryland.
Over the years, The Hodson Trust has awarded in excess
of $184 million to fund academic merit scholarships as well as research grants,
information and technology initiatives, science education, building
construction, library expansion, athletic programs, and endowment funds to four
Maryland
schools. Johns Hopkins alone has received $62.1 million over the lifetime
of the Trust.
Through the gift of Hodson
Hall, the Hodson Trust has brought a much needed new
classroom facility featuring state-of-the-art learning technology to Homewood. “We hope to continue providing funds
that enable these four institutions to further grow their educational offerings
and scholarship programs. We believe that by supporting excellence in
education we can help create opportunities for the leaders of tomorrow," said
Finn M. W. Caspersen, Chairman of the Board of
Trustees of The Hodson Trust.
The trustees of The Hodson
Trust are pleased to support the Provost's Undergraduate Research Awards
program at the Johns
Hopkins University.
We applaud the accomplishments of the award recipients and extend our best
wishes for continued success.
Our
thanks to The Hodson Trust for their generous support
for these awards.
