The Hodson Trust Scholarship (Top)
|
Awarded on
the basis of academic and personal achievement, leadership, and
contribution, these scholarships, worth up to $24,000 per annum,
are awarded to fewer than 20 freshmen yearly through the Hodson
Trust. The scholarships are automatically renewed each year, provided
the recipient maintains a 3.0 grade point average.
All Freshman applicants for admission will be considered for the Hodson Trust Scholarship. A separate application is not required. Notification of selection will be made at the time of admission.

Charles
R. Westgate Scholarship in Engineering (Top)
|
Johns Hopkins
University is pleased to announce the Charles R. Westgate Scholarship
in Engineering. These scholarships were made possible through
a gift from Kwok-Leung Li, a graduate of the Electrical Engineering
Department. Mr. Li achieved great success as an entrepreneur
in the communications and network industries. The scholarships
are named in honor of Professor Westgate who has dedicated his
career to the education of undergraduate students. He has been
widely recognized for his excellence in teaching and his interest
in helping students in independent research and guided study.
These merit-based scholarships provide full tuition per year
and a stipend toward living expenses for four years of undergraduate
study in engineering. Students in any engineering major may
be considered for the scholarships. Up to two scholarships are
available for entering students each year.
To be considered for this award, students must:

1.
Apply for freshman admissions to Johns Hopkins University
by January 1, and indicate your interest in majoring in
Engineering.
2. Present an outstanding high school record and achievements
in other areas including leadership, success in science
fairs, and evidence of independent research.

A scholarship
committee will choose among the qualified applicants; no formal
application is needed. Notification of selection will be made
at the time of admission. The Westgate Scholarship may be renewed
annually for a total of four years of undergraduate study based
on:

Continued enrollment in the G.W.C. Whiting School of Engineering
2. Maintenance of a 3.0 GPA of better

Robert C. Byrd Scholarship (Top)
|
A merit-based
scholarship offered by the federal government to high school
seniors. Contact your high school counselor or state higher
education agency for information on these awards. Information
about contacting your state
agency is available on the web.

Army
Reserve Officer Training Corps (ROTC) (Top)
|
Two-, three-,
and four-year renewable tuition scholarships, often with book
allowances and monthly living stipends, are available through
an on-campus Army ROTC program. Military service as a commissioned
officer is required upon graduation. For more information, contact
your local Army or Air Force recruiting officer, high school
counselor, the Department
of Military Science at Johns Hopkins 1-800-JHU-ROTC.

Air
Force ROTC Scholarships (ROTC) (Top)
|
The Air
Force offers competitive and non-competitive scholarships available
to Johns Hopkins University students who join the Air Force
Reserve Officer Training Corps (AFROTC). Each scholarship pays
up to $15,000 toward tuition, $510 for books, and a monthly
non-taxable stipend ranging between $300-$400. Contact (301)
