RD Decisions Mailed
Regular Decision notifications were mailed on Friday, March 28. If you indicated an e-mail address on your application for admission, you should have already received your decision by e-mail. Your official packet will follow.

Admissions decisions will be released over the phone starting Tuesday, April 1, only to the applicant, the parent or guardian of an applicant, or the applicant’s high school guidance counselor. Decisions will be released only if the identity of the caller can be reasonably assured.

Admitted Students
Congratulations! Please refer to the Admitted Student Web Site URL that was included in your admit packet and acceptance email.

Wait Listed Applicants

I've been wait listed. What happens next?

Be sure to return the Wait List Reply Card that was enclosed with your letter by May 1. Only those students who send in the card will be considered if spaces become available. If you are accepted from the wait list, you will be contacted by phone and in writing.

How many students are on the wait list? Is it ranked?

This number varies from year to year. The wait list is not ranked.

Can I visit campus during April like admitted students do?

You are welcome to visit Monday through Friday and participate in our Information Sessions, Guided Tours, and Class Visits. April Open Houses and overnight visits are restricted to admitted students.

Is there anything I can do to increase my chances of being admitted?

You are not required to submit any additional materials. However, you may submit supplemental materials to your application file if you wish. This information could be additional letters of recommendation, an updated résumé, or an additional written statement of your interest in Johns Hopkins. Make sure these materials add to your file in a substantive way or provide new information.

If I am accepted from the wait list and I applied for financial aid, will I receive any financial assistance?

There is no guarantee of financial assistance for students accepted from the wait list.

My other schools require a deposit. When will I hear if I've been admitted to Johns Hopkins?

Students can be admitted from the wait list at any time between May and June or even July. We recommend that you submit your deposit to a school where you have been admitted. If you are later admitted to Johns Hopkins from the wait list and plan to attend, you should withdraw your enrollment from that other school and be prepared to forfeit your deposit.
